ORIGINAL “CLASH OF THE TITANS” LINEUP OF SLAYER, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX TO TOUR AGAIN

Leg Two of American Carnage Tour Announced

Los Angeles, CA - (MONDAY, July 12, 2010) -- Metalheads rejoice:  North America's biggest thrash tour in 20 years is announced, as 1991's original American "Clash of the Titans" lineup – Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax - will tour together once again on Leg Two of the American Carnage Tour.  This trek kicks off September 24 at Superpages.com Amphitheatre in Dallas, TX and will play 20 dates, including New York's Nassau Coliseum, concluding at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 21.

On Leg Two of American Carnage, Megadeth will continue to roar through its landmark 1990 album Rust in Peace from front to back, while Slayer will rip the roof off by performing its much-lauded Seasons in the Abyss album, which was also released in 1990. Anthrax recently welcomed back singer Joey Belladonna, who defined the band during their heyday, and now permanently back in the band, will be front-and-center.

A special presale will launch this Wednesday, July 14, and fans should log onto to www.slayer.net - www.megadeth.com - or www.anthrax.com - to obtain the special code needed for the presale, and then go to www.ticketmaster.com (http://knoxvilletickets.com/ for the Knoxville date) to purchase tickets.  The public on sale date will begin July 23 in most markets. In the spirit of beating the recession, there will be special pre-sale discounts on all tickets in most markets (see below for more details), and, if that's not enough, a limited amount of $10 tickets will be available in many cities - log onto any of the bands' websites or onto Ticketmaster's site for those details.

But wait, there's even more.  For Leg Two of the American Carnage tour, Megadeth has teamed up with iloveallaccess.com to provide fans with VIP experiences including priority venue access, meet and greets, parties, exclusive gifts and more.  Logging onto www.megadeth.com will provide those details.  Plus, fans who purchase their tickets online at either www.slayer.net or ticketmaster.com - will receive a free download of the live audio track "War Ensemble," set to be included on Slayer's forthcoming, as yet unannounced "Live Intrusion" DVD release.

Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax will kick off the second leg of the American Carnage tour on the heels of the historical "Big Four" Sonisphere Festival concerts they played with Metallica in seven European cities this summer.  The dates marked the first time that these four bands - acknowledged as the most influential bands the thrash metal genre - had shared a concert bill.

The original “Clash of the Titans” tour united the three forces of thrash metal for the entire summer of 1991, with then-little known Alice in Chains serving as the opener. This tour, which falls under the “American Carnage” banner, isn’t rewriting history; it’s writing a whole new chapter of headbanging history that is sure to delight fans new and old.

Megadeth and Slayer return to North America late this month to co-headline the east coast Canadian Carnage tour, and then starting August 11, the first leg of the American Carnage tour (dates below) with Testament as Special Guest. The tour was originally scheduled for a winter 2010 run, but was postponed when Slayer bassist/vocalist Tom Araya was forced to undergo neck surgery.  But as is the case for anything good in life, this tour was well worth the wait.

Colin Farrell set to play Ozzy Osbourne in new bio pic

Former Dublin hellraiser, Colin Farrell, is set to play Black Sabbath’s Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne in a new bio pic.

The Paramount Pictures and MTV Film’s have revealed that Colin Farrell would be their ideal choice to play the Brummie rocker.

An spokesperson joked ““At least Colin and Ozzy are on the same page when it comes to using four-letter words!”

Another insider has been quoted saying “Colin drinks, he smokes, he womanizes. He's just a sleeve tattoo away from being a real rock star.”

However, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne both have their own idea.

Ozzy has said that he wants an actor from Birmingham, his hometown in the north of England to play his part to make it more authentic. He said “I'd like to get a Birmingham guy to play the young lad in it because Americans can't do a good Brummie accent.”
Sharon has also mentioned that she would like Johnny Depp to play her husband’s part. Well we can guess why that is.

However, Ozzy seems to be sticking to his guns. “I don't want a Johnny Depp or someone from the Hobbit films. I want someone who knows Birmingham. I'm from Birmingham, and it would be good to get someone from Birmingham to play me,” said the Prince of Darkness.

He added “I'd like to do something like an X Factor audition, but Sharon does all that kind of thing, you know.”

The 61-year-old Black Sabbath rocker has certainly had an interesting like. So interesting in fact that scientist at a DNA researchers in St. Louis are studying Ozzy to find out why he’s still alive having partied hard all his life. Ozzy and Keith Richards should compare notes.

INTERVIEW WITH JOHN MOTHERFUCKING BUSH

It must be an interesting time to be John Bush. Armored Saint have just released La Raza, their first album in a decade – and its rightfully being met with cheers of “It was worth the wait!” from critics and fans alike. Meanwhile, last year he re-joined Anthrax after more than four years away, and, it would seem, is now back with the band for good. Given that he was pretty much absent from the scene altogether during those years, this sudden abundance of new output can only be good news for the John Bush fans of the world – like us!

Something About Golden Gods

As a WWE superstar, Chris Jericho has had a rough month, losing his World Heavyweight Championship. But he can take consolation with his other job, as frontman for Fozzy, as he has one sweet gig comig up. Jericho will co-host the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles April 8 at Club Nokia (for those not in L.A. the program will air on VH1 Classic May 22).

Being a metal fan as well as musician, Jericho is thrilled to see the music he loves get the attention it deserves. "I think it's a long time coming that heavy metal as a genre got a whole awards show of its own, because it's such a huge, huge world," he tells Noisecreep. "It's like one category decided by the fossils at the Grammys doesn't even begin to cover it."

This year's show offers plenty of highlights, from Judas Priest's Rob Halford and Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister receiving lifetime achievement awards to performances by Slash, As I Lay Dying, Kilmister backed by Slash and Dave Grohl on 'Ace of Spades,' Rob Zombie and more. "I'm excited to see the whole thing," Jericho says. "I'm so happy that Rob is getting his award, and I'm looking forward to that; seeing the all-star band, Slash's band. But just to be there as a fan and a performer, I get the best of both worlds. It's gonna be a lot of fun and I'm really, really happy that I'll be able to be there as the master of ceremonies."

Jericho will be co-master of ceremonies, along with Andrew W.K. With the two musicians sharing a similar sense of humor, expect a lot of frivolity. "The opening montage, the opening vignette that you're gonna see, if it turns out half as funny as it was filming it, it should tear the house down," he says. "I met Andrew five years ago at the Spike TV Video Game Awards of all places, and he's definitely a kindred spirit. Where he's more serious and then gets really funny, I'm more goofy and get really funny, we meet in the middle. There's a great chemistry, we make a good wacky duo. It's kind of a heavy metal Martin and Lewis, the Bing Crosby and Bob Hope of rock."

That sounds like a buddy movie we'd love to see. Any chance? "Andrew and I are both always looking for jobs," Jericho says. "So if somebody puts together W.K. and Jericho go to the Colosseum in Italy, wackiness ensues."

Jason Newsted rejoins Metallica, Robert Trujillo booted

It's great to be back with the boys again. We've been discussing the idea since the Hall of Fame show last year and we finally came to an agreement. Rob is a great bassist, I'm sure he'll be fine in whatever he decides to do. I'm really looking forward to the European tour with my cats James and Lars.
